U.S. cybersecurity firm FireEye Hacked!

In a press release FireEye revealed that probably some Russian hackers have used “novel techniques” to make off with its own tool kit, which could be used to launch new attacks around the world.

The New York Times reports that “These are essentially digital tools that replicate the most sophisticated hacking tools in the world. FireEye uses the tools — with the permission of a client company or government agency — to look for vulnerabilities in their systems. Most of the tools are based in a digital vault that FireEye closely guards.”

FireEye made a statement that after the stock market closed, they had called in the F.B.I..

The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Kevin Mandia,, FireEye’s chief executive. said “This attack is different from the tens of thousands of incidents we have responded to throughout the years,”.
It is still unclear to FireEye that how the hackers had got access to the most secure system and they are still investigating it..

Kevin Mandia made another statement “We are not sure if the attacker intends to use our Red Team tools or to publicly disclose them,”

Mandia also wrote in the blog post.  “We have learned and continue to learn more about our adversaries as a result of this attack, and the greater security community will emerge from this incident better protected. We will never be deterred from doing what is right.”
